Hidden Skulls by István Orosz
Skulls are pretty cool because sometimes flames shoot out of them and you can also use them as goblets for the drinking of your opponent’s blood. They also keep your brain from falling out of your eye holes, so I guess they have structural purposes too. Istvan’s Ship of Fools series, based on Albrecht Dürer’s engravings from Sebastian Brant’s satire of the same name, uses illusory illustrations to deviously hide brain-cases amidst meticulously detailed scenes.
